A big friendly birthday, London
The popular English writer Roald Dahl, best known for his children’s books, was born on September 13 1916. There are various events taking place throughout the year to celebrate what would have been his 100th birthday, including the BFG (Big Friendly Giant) in Pictures exhibition at the House of Illustration in London. The exhibition contains 40 original illustrations, many unseen in public before, that were made for one of Dahl’s most loved books, The BFG.
